Cedar Ball with Harbor School and Colts Neck Middle School

On Friday, February 15, Cedar Drive Middle School in Colts Neck, New Jersey invited the select students from Harbor School to participate in a game of “Cedar Ball“. The event was organized by Russel Witt, at the school and Colin Rigby, the Cedar Drive Middle School principal, along with Jennifer Bogin, Harbor School’s adaptive physical education teacher.

The Cedar Drive Middle School students put on this event to the show their awareness of the community, as well as to recognize the importance of inclusion.

Before the students took the court, the Cedar Middle School chorus band, with the direction of the Colts Neck High School ROTC, played the Star Spangled Banner, which concluded with the loud applause by students from both schools. All of the players wore specially made t-shirts for this event.

During the game, while the entire Cedar Middle School watched and cheered, the Cedar players teamed up with the Harbor students as they raced up and down the court to score. It was truly an amazing event that was not only fun, but it also unified both communities. The Harbor School students left the event asking when they could visit Cedar Drive Middle School again.

Plans for this will hopefully be coming soon!
