PTA Newsletter for December 2017
Happy Holidays from the PTA! We hope everyone got to enjoy the amazing Holiday Show on December 15th. Once again, our very talented students gave a wonderful performance and certainly put everyone in the spirit of the season.
We would like to thank all of you for supporting the efforts of the PTA and helping us raise funds for our very deserving student body.
It has been a busy year and listed below are the results of each project.
September: Kastle Kreations: Each school year kicks off with this traditional fundraiser. With the help of everyone we made $663.20.
PTA dues were collected at the beginning of the year for a total of $605.
October: Halloween Dance: This is our 3rd year doing a dance for our students which included folks from Alpha and Gateway Schools. The kids had a great time dancing to DJ Jay. We took in a total of $1,000 but laid out $400 for the event (DJ, tablecloths, paper goods, etc.) and we made $600.
November: Thanksgiving Feast: Each year the PTA sponsors a luncheon for the staff and students. This year’s feast was provided once again by Jimmy Pecci’s “Taste of Italy” located in Tinton Falls. The food was excellent and we recommend them highly. Our cost for the dinner was $1,350.
December: Harbor Helpers: This fundraiser invites friends and family to purchase an angel that is displayed outside outside Harbor School ($25 family/$50 business). As of this publication we made $700 but some families are still purchasing angels.
Holiday Tree Donations: We asked our families to donate gift cards to the PTA (based on category) to create 2 holiday trees for purchase. The PTA thanks each of you for participating and this year we made $495.
50/50 Raffle Holiday Show: This raffle made $280.
Holiday Bake Sale: Thanks again to everyone’s donation we made $80.
Harbor Family Donations: 1 for $250 and 1 for $300.
PTA EXPENSES AND DONATIONS:
Thanksgiving Feast: $1,350
Para-Professional Luncheon: $143
Hanway and Krotic Donation for Playground: $497
Remaining Bus requests for various trips: $1,750
Other outstanding items: Harbor School Yearbook, Field Day, Teacher Appreciation Luncheon, Prom, Graduation gifts and other bus trips.
To date the PTA has approximately $3,277 in our account. As you can see from the above listed items, there are some outstanding expenses to cover for the school year and we will have additional fundraisers in the New Year to help pay for these activities.
Please note the Joe Corbi’s Pizza Fundraiser for January! Brochures were sent home the week of December 11th. Please take a look – it can be a great addition to any Super Bowl Party. Orders are due back January 12th.
