2019 Lauren Townsend Award
This past Sunday, September 15, 2019, Holiday Express awarded the Harbor School students with the 2019 Lauren Townsend Award. Lauren Townsend, student athlete and valedictorian, died at the age of 18 in the Columbine High School Massacre in Colorado in April of 1999.
This award is dedicated in Lauren’s memory for her commitment to excellence, passion for volunteering, and the brilliance of her spirit. It is presented to those who make a difference in the lives of others, helping to fulfill the mission of Holiday Express – to deliver the gift of human kindness.
“We have chosen the Harbor School students for their contribution to Holiday Express by volunteering tirelessly in our warehouse during the holiday season.”
All of us at Harbor School would like to thank Holiday Express for this very prestigious award. We are always grateful for the opportunity to have our students give back to the community.
The award was given out at the 12th Annual Holiday Express Sunset Benefit Clambake at Mcloone’s Pier House in Long Branch.
